Roscoe Dash has a New Deal and maybe more hits with Travis Porter?

Roscoe Dash is preparing to shoot the video for his lead single “Sexy Girl Anthem” from his Ready Set Go album and speaking on his squashed beef with ATL rap trio Travis Porter.

As previously reported, Travis Porter released a video saying, “F*ck Roscoe Dash”, after a discrepancy with his hit “All The Way Turnt Up.”
Moving on from the situation Dash says the past is the past and the young Atlanta talents have talked out their issues.
When asked if a Roscoe Dash/Travis Porter record would be out of the question, he tells HipHopWired,
“I wouldn't say that, over the past couple months we actually sat down and had a conversation. We had the same show in North Carolina and the thing about that situation is that we really realized we really weren't the people who had a problem with each other.
It's always the outside people coming in who make situations bigger than they have to be, you know we were cool before all this happened.  It's just really good to get everything off your chest and we understand that.
So once we actually sat down and had this conversation, we realized that we all make good music so why not make the music our fans wanna hear us make, we have a lot of the same fans. I wouldn't count it out of the question at all.”

Since moving past the “beef”, Dash has inked a new record deal with Interscope and Music Line. Also tied in to the deal is Zone 4 producer Polow Da Don, known for introducing the world to Keri Hilson.
Speaking on his new deal, Dash says,
“My deal is a three way deal with Polow Da Don, Interscope and Music Line. I have a lot of good people on my team that are really down for my project. We all believe in working as a unit. “

Ready Set Go hits stores November 2.

Queen Latifah and VH1

Shout out to HipHopWired...

Rap veteran turned major actress Queen Latifah has something else to add to her resume. According to published reports the Queen Latifah-produced movie “Single Ladies” has been picked up by VH1 and expanded into a weekly television series.
As previously reported, Flava Unit partnered up with VH1 to give fans a new comedic drama airing exclusively on the network. At the the time, the drama was described as a film about two twenty something year old friends in Atlanta and their “very different takes on relationships.”
According to Variety, VH1 is describing the TV version as:
A comedic drama about a Val, Keisha, and April – three best friends with different philosophies on sex and relationships. Val ( Stacey Dash) is an ambitious aspiring fashion mogul who wants to find a true partner. Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy), on the other hand, is a former video dancer just looking for a rich man to keep her in style. April (Charity Shea) has supposedly found the perfect man and the perfect marriage – but is learning that marriage isn't necessarily a happy ending. Single Ladies is a modern, sexy series set in the world of Atlanta fashion, music, and celebrity that will constantly explore which woman has the right approach to relationships.

Latifah has released a statement saying,
“My (producing) partner Shakim (Compere) and I are excited to collaborate with VH1, as they have a similar vision on how to bring this show to life...I think ‘Single Ladies' will really fill a hole in what is needed on television today.”

The movie turned TV series starring Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy, Charity Shea and DB Woodside, has an exclusive deal to become an eight-episode series for the network.
Latifah, who was not initially featured in the project, is now scheduled to make a guest appearance in the expanded TV version.
The movie was shot in the summer of 2010 and features guest appearances by Lauren London, Eve, Common, Chilli, and Kim Porter and is set to launch in July, 2011, according to Variety.

Getting Sued while in Jail???

Yet another producer is filing a suit with rapper Lil Wayne for unpaid wages for beats done on The Carter III. Although currently incarcerated, Weezy will be served a complaint for copyright infringement and a federal court summons before he gets out of prison.
This time, a producer is filing copyright infringement for a beat that another producer has already claimed he wasn't paid for. Confused?
Atlanta based producer Michael “Mali Boi” Bradford is alleging that he failed to receive royalties payments for his work on Wayne's single “Mr. Officer.”
Bradford alleges that he originally made the beat five years before it was later reconfigured by producer, Deezle, who was given producer's credit for the track.
Strangely, Deezle has also filed suit with Wayne for not receiving royalty payments for the same beat.
Cash Money Records has yet to comment on the suit, but agreed to hold on royalty payments received from digital downloads, retail singles and ringtones until the two parties could agree on a solution.
In related news, Rapper Lil Wayne is asking his fans not to send him any more mail for the remainder of his stint at Riker's Island.
The artists had this message sent out via his Twitter account @liltunechi,
“I can no longer write my fans. As difficult as this maybe to say please stop sending me mail. I luv you and will see you soon.”

As previously reported, Lil Wayne will spend the remainder of his jail sentence in solitary confinement over a previous infraction for contraband.
This is stemming from the Young Money head being caught with an mp3 charger and headphones in May, a violation of Riker's Island rules.
Weezy F is scheduled to be released form Riker's Island, November 4.

Skyzoo & !llmind, 'Speakers On Blast'

Shoutout to Buzzworthy

When it comes to rap videos, they don't really make 'em like the used to. Before the late '90s Bad Boy/Diddy/Notorious B.I.G. era, hip-hop videos were largely made up of rugged dudes hanging out in rugged locales with their rugged friends. No glossy cinematography, magnums of champagne or shiny suits.
So call Sykzoo and !llmind's "Speakers On Blast" a throwback. Heck, that's what the Brooklyn-born Skyzoo calls himself! "Now they wanna bring the 90's back/That's okay, 'cause that's where they designed me at," he raps from a Brooklyn rooftop.
This is Brooklyn jeep music, the kind of Wu-Tang Clan-, Mobb Deep- and Nas-inspired East Coast hip-hop that will make the heart flutter of anyone who grew up on the Golden Age of hip-hop.
"Speakers On Blast" is a collaboration between Skyzoo and acclaimed producer !llmind, who laces the song with a cracking throwback beat.
Watch Skyzoo and !llmind's "Speakers On Blast" video below. The track is taken from the duo's Live From The Tape Deck, which is out now.

Apparently Drake gets lonely, and the actor turned rap star needs security too.
In an interview with Katie Couric last night, Drizzy explained how his superstardom has changed his lifestyle as far as where and when he goes places.
According to Young Money's star player, going out alone isn't an option anymore,
"The weirdest part is always having to have security. Sometimes I just want to hop in a cab, or walk up the street and get an iced tea or something by myself. Then it comes a time where you do it and sometimes you realize why you shouldn't [try to go alone] whether, it be [being] bombarded with pictures, or where its more negative. I've had situations have to be me where things have happened. People have tried to get at me in ways where its a little scary. And you realize you do need that security around you."

As recently reported, a Florida man is pressing charges against Drake and one of the members of the rapper's security detail after the bodyguard allegedly punched him in the face at a Jacksonville club.
Drizzy also revealed in the interview that following the success of his platinum debut Thank Me Later, he is prepping an R&B mixtape titled, Its Never Enough.

Back to the Old Days

How many of us remember when Randy Moss was playing for the Vikings and had a sneaker deal with Jordan. Well he's back, with the Vikings at least. He did do his thing with the Patriots for a while but back to where he started he goes. Randy is still a great WR (wide receiver) and Brett Favre is a great QB, I guess now we will see how they come together to win some games.

Upcoming Designers

NIA COBB
Design, color, fabric, and events are where Nia Cobb gets her inspiration to spin fashion into her own style. Fashion can no longer be considered a hobby or a trade but a work of art. This art has the power of changing one’s emotions, body shape, and persona. Designer Nia Cobb made fashion her life and will continue to get her name heard in the industry. Cobb was born in Willingboro, New Jersey on April 1, 1987 and graduated from Willingboro High School in 2005. From graduating high school, Cobb was drawn to the Art Institute of Philadelphia to pursue her dreams of a designer. Cobb will be graduating June of 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Fashion Design.

Getting to Know Miss. Cobb:
What was your 1st article of clothing you ever designed?
My 11th grade prom dress, at first I was so proud of it because I actually designed and created it. But now when I look back I can see all my mistakes due to the fact that I did not have any type direction.

How long does it usually take for you to construct a piece?
It depends, if it’s an extravagant piece it will take no longer than a week. However, a regular piece will only take me a day or two.

How is the process?
First, I find my inspiration or a special event that helps me get the idea. Second, sketch and understand the design. Third, find the fabrics; however, the design of the fabric can change the whole piece. Fourth, drape the design. Lastly, make the whole entire piece.

What are some accomplishments as a designer?
Some of my designs has made it into our showcase of the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Also I won fashion designer of the year at a Hair/Fashion show in New Jersey.

Who are your favorite designers?
Both Vivian Westwood and Tracy Reese. These two designers are able to craft their designs into a simple but wearable look.

Your suggestion of good clothing stores and magazines?
Personally, I do not believe that you have to go to high price stores like Barneys but shop at Vintage shops, Mom and Pop stores, or even Goodwill. These stores gives a one of a kid look and makes it easier to craft certain outfits. The magazines I choose to read and get my motivation from are W, Vogue, and InStyle.

How do you select your models?
My models are today’s typical look, a size 6 woman with curves. Also my models are usually not models which makes it easier to train them. Yet, the designs I craft are of different size ranges but tend to the women with a curvaceous body.
